Red, White, and Cool: Healthy Tips for the 4th of July

As we gear up for the Fourth of July celebrations, please note that all Commonwealth Pain & Spine offices will be closed for the holiday. To help you enjoy the holiday safely and healthily, here are some important tips:

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water, especially if you're spending time outdoors.

  • Wear Sunscreen: Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen regularly.

Below is an easy and nutritious recipe you can make for your 4th of July gatherings. Watermelon popsicles made with fresh watermelon, lemon, and honey for an all-natural, cool, and refreshing frozen summer treat everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups watermelon, seeded and diced

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

Directions

  1. Blend watermelon, water, honey, lemon juice, and sugar together in a blender until smooth. Pour mixture into popsicle molds and freeze until solid, about 2 hours.

  2. Run hot water over popsicle molds for a few seconds to unmold.

Pay Stub Reminder

Team Members: Please remember to look at your pay stubs in Paylocity every pay day! It's important to check your federal tax deductions before tax time.
